Mary Gallo is an Assistant Teacher in the 4&5 Year Old Classes taught by Lisa Charpentier. She also helps with the Three Year Old Lunch Time Learning Program and summer camp. She began teaching at St. Mary Preschool in 2007. She has a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and has put her talents to good use in the classroom. Mary uses her creativity to develop innovative art projects and designed the new St. Mary Preschool logo.
Mary first became involved as a parent in the Preschool when her two sons Luke, 18 and Paul, 15 were students here. Mary and her husband Tony are also the parents of Olivia, a recent college graduate. They have been active in other ministries in our church, especially the Men’s Club and Women’s Guild. In her spare time, Mary enjoys gardening and creating masterpieces suited for 4 year old children and will someday start creating for big people again. She enjoys spending time with her family and likes to read, but only on a beach!
Why do you enjoy working with young children?
We get a glimpse of God in the eyes of each little one…love, purity, joy, excitement, trust of the age we have. Also I love to see how fast and greatly they can grow and learn in the few short months they stay with us! Plus, I think they get my silly sense of humor!
What have young children taught you?
Relax, have fun, be silly. Sometimes big people forget to do that! And we still learn things – even if we have fun along the way.
