St. Henry's involves enhancing the practice of prayer, exploring the Bible, promoting socialization with others and establishing a stronger relationship with God. The group meets once a month on Friday evenings from 6:00- 7:30 pm. The evenings consist of prayer and song, Bible/scripture reading and discussion, food and an activity allowing socialization and fun!
From St. Henry's leader Josanne Hyclak:
"I was an educator in the field of Special Education for many years. I taught at EastWoods Intermediate School where I served as an Intervention Specialist for 4th and 5th graders. I am also involved in Special Olympics as a coach for the track team. I am also a moderator for the Book Worms which is a Book Club for adults with disabilities. All of these groups bring joy to my heart which I like to share."
The group is blessed to have Katrael Chin a licensed music therapist. Mr. Chin enriches our group with his ability to help us praise God through song and movement. He involves the group while he plays the piano or guitar. He has a special gift of working one-on-one and jumps in where ever there is a need to assist an individual.
